I have felt empty inside for some time. I find myself eating constantly to fill the void.

This is a really great observation that you are having about yourself. When are the first times you remember feeling empty? How old were you? What were your strategies at that age to cope? Did you eat a scoop of peanut butter? Did you find yourself in the pantry looking for something to distract yourself?
Geneen Roth said that every time you turn to food it is an attempt to try to make yourself feel better. As a kid, youth or young adult (whenever this pattern started) you did not know how to label the emotion and then allow it in your body.
The first thing is awareness. Simply say out loud: I am feeling empty.
Secondly ask yourself why?
Third give yourself time to locate the emotion you are feeling. Now allow that emotion to vibrate through you.
Fourth normalize that you are feeling this emotion. You are allowed to feel this. No more judgement.
