Help with upset stomach

I’m a week into the program and haven’t had any added sugar or flour. Most of the day I have felt very naseous. Wondering if it might be a “keto flu” type response to my dietary changes? In the past I would have eaten some Saltine crackers but sticking to the no flour rule! I did feel a little better after my morning fruit+yogurt smoothie, and managed to eat a small bowl of sausage and roasted vegetables for lunch.

Looking for suggestions on food choices to settle my stomach. Thanks!

Answer:

First off, way to go! You are honouring your word to not eat the flour and sugar. This is a huge accomplishment.

Your body is having a temper tantrum because it wants the quick fixes rather than having to work harder to access the stored fat. It is kind of like having to get out of your comfortable couch to turn the channel.

Be patient and show yourself a lot of compassion and encouragement to keep on living without the added sugar and refined flour. I wonder if having protein first thing in the morning will also help you. Protein can be eggs and bacon, greek yogurt mixed with protein powder topped with some berries or even an omelette loaded with veggies and cheese? Try changing that up and see how you feel.

Curiosity is key here.
